About Gerry Lowe

I enjoyed a 34 year, prosperous career with the Department of Veterans Affairs where I had the privilege and pleasure of serving our nations great veterans. During this time I served as a Medical Technologist at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona, PA where I was a key player in facilitating the Ward Order Entry System during the early days of automation.I began working exclusively with the information technology arm of the VA in the early 90's with the Accounts Receivable development team. Over the course of the following years I worked in many areas of software development which included a focus on Billing/Revenue Replacement, Enrollment Re-Design, and in the latter half of my career, the oversight of several Secretary Major Initiatives and eventually as a Director and Deputy Executive Director of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Division of OI&T.The focus of my career has always been about affecting positive change in the organization and leading software development efforts to successful outcomes which benefit our VA User community and ultimately our Veterans. Upon retirement in August 2020, I accepted a position with GovCIO so I can continue world-class support of our Nations Veterans!
