 Dr Gerry McAlinden - acknowledged leader and Project Leader in policy and strategy development at government level - more than 30 years working at senior expert, team leader and director level.  Project achievements include: facilitating EU-South Africa policy dialogue; EU accession legislative and administrative alignment in Latvia and Poland; policies and institutions for tackling rural poverty and social exclusion in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania; regional development and institutional structures in Croatia; socio-economic development and social inclusion strategy in Bosnia and Herzegovina; policy and programme adviser for local economic development in Eastern Cape (South Africa); chief executive of the Northern Ireland Centre in Europe supporting NI institutions and businesses to interact and dialogue with EU institutions; national expert with the European Commission structural funds - rural and regional development; senior civil servant in Northern Ireland in employment policy and public admin reform. Highly experienced public policy adviser and consultant - breadth of experience in establishing structures and capacities for developing, implementing and coordinating government policies and programmes – including design and leadership of EU accession-related policy, legislative and institutional approximation and alignment.
