After spending a successful 15 years within operations and as the Search business continued to expand and grow throughout the UK, the board identified me as being a person who could add value to the senior and executive management teams and provide support in achieving its strategic aims & commercial objectives. Accordingly, I was promoted to a new role as Commercial Director in January 2006 and then to Company Secretary in January 2008, the position held until leaving the business.During this period I gained considerable boardroom and general meeting exposure within the Search group, where I played an important role in ensuring good corporate governance as well as statutory and constitutional compliance. Summary highlights: In early 2004, successfully appointed to the first formal management team, whilst having progressed to specialising in the senior and executive appointments market, recruiting Financial Controllers and Directors. With strategic & operational responsibility for the Accountancy & Legal Divisions, the scope of my role expanded to include achieving/monitoring commercial results, business development, staff recruitment/management, business planning and budgeting.  With the emergence of Pan European, Accounting Shared Service Centres during 1997-98, I became a leading recruitment specialist in this niche area within the Scottish market place:-> I recruited almost 300 staff combining language and technical skills in Accounting, IT and HR, from Team Member level to Operational Managers. This included project managing high volume campaigns for the Eaton Corporation and Tasco Europe (now Shell) Pan European SSC’s based in Glasgow, involving designing competency based selection processes and recruiting people from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Holland, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway; and> I became an advisor to Locate in Scotland and subsequently met with and advised a large number of multinational organisations considering locating their Pan European SSC's in Scotland.This involved providing advice on various recruitment issues including labour availability & salary/employment costs.  Recognised as Search’s ‘Top Contributor’ for 1998. A resultant promotion to Associate Director followed in early 1999. Following the Search ‘BIMBO’ (2000) I was promoted to Director status from 2001. Between 2001 and 2005 I assumed responsibility for a number of other Scottish Regional divisions (Insurance & Financial Services; Sales & Marketing; Pharmaceutical; Human Resources) and during 2004-05 I established our first Aberdeen based operation (encompassing Industrial, Technical/Oil & Gas, & Office Services divisions).
