Avaya is a Global leader in business communications providing solutions directly and through itsChannel partners to leading Enterprises around the world. Avaya purchased the Nortel Enterprise business in 2010 inclusive of my team.Led the transition from Nortel Legacy systems to Avaya systems resulting in a onetime $10 million reduction in spend. Improved Service Delivery taking it from 54% to a constant ongoing 99%+ Changed the reverse logistic strategy by re-in sourcing contracts from China to Europe achieving 23% reduction on repair activity spend whilst improving overall turnaround times resulting in the ability to reduce inventory. Reduced the inventory holding by 45% ($7 million) with zero effect on service delivery and helped negotiate the sale of the excess inventory to the secondary market.

Nortel was a Global leader within the Telecommunication industry with worldwide businesses across different market segments. This business was broken up and individual parts sold when it went into administration. Responsible for the management of $19 million maintenance inventory deployed in 75 warehouses across 24 countries in EMEA to ensure SLA levels as low as 2 hours were met to maintain the customer SLA requirements. Directly responsible for the management of the highest value service contract with Energis ensuring that all contractual obligations were met or exceeded and which were reviewed at weekly face to face meetings with the customer. Managed the outsourcing of the Service spares to NCR inclusive of the sale of the inventory. Project managed the three month movement of the inventory from existing hubs to NCR’s hub. Subsequently managed the re-in source of the Spares from NCR. Achieved significant cost reductions through improved inventory planning and recreated a 3 tier model to replace the 4 tiers that had been created by NCR. Successfully achieved over a six month period with no impact on customer performance. Achieved the required cost reductions to the business model.In 2008 tasked to take on an additional major role within the Repair side of Nortel’s business aligning it where possible with the spares business. Successfully moved the Repairs business to Flextronics, which including the sale of the existing repairs inventory, thereby reducing Nortel’s inventory holding and generating a cash injection.

European Purchasing Manager 1994 - 2000 • Appointed Purchasing Manager of the start up arm of Anixter Int. responsible for the support & integration of significant networks for high profile customers such as Tesco’s, Royal Bank of Scotland and Barclays.• Built up a team of four responsible for an annual budget of £50 million negotiating with major suppliers such as Cisco, IBM, and Nortel where possible obtaining significant price reductions by using some of these companies reseller partners.• Successfully negotiated a £9 million pound purchase of an IBM product required for deployment across the UK & Ireland for Tesco inclusive of the staging and installation of the products to significantly improve the GP. Delivered on time ensuring ACI received additional bonuses from the end customer.• Negotiated beneficial terms with supply chain vendors resulting in rebates totalling £100K.• 1999 saw the sale of ACI to a German competitor Comparex. I maintained my pan European role as Purchasing Manager with Comparex.• 2000 saw a further sale of the business from Comparex to Dimension Data which resulted in the breakup of the business and I returned to work for Anixter International as Purchasing Manager for a short 3 month period when I was approached by Nortel to join them.
