Collaborative Canadian Energy Solutions (CCES) is a not-for-profit advocate forenergy/environment policies and regulations which support the development of all forms of energythroughout Canada. The adoption of efficient and effective policies will spur investment,employment, technology development, and export, while providing security and lower costs.Recommendations will be developed in a collaborative framework engaging Industry, FirstNations, Landowners, Rights Owners, Consumers, Academia and research organizations.Governments and regulators will be engaged to assess recommendations against current policiesand regulations. While the primary focus will be Canadian policy and regulation, linkages withNorth American and international policy and consumers will be analyzed and added whereappropriate. Communication platforms will include meetings, conferences, town halls and socialmedia.

In March 2018, I completed my 5 year OC appointment as the Chair of the Alberta Energy Regulator, the largest energy regulator in North America. During my term, the AER Board oversaw the amalgamation of three separate regulators and then developed a comprehensive strategic plan with performance targets and measures.

SAIT is a polytechnic institute offering more than 110 career programs in technology, trades and business. Established in 1916, it is Calgary's second oldest post-secondary institution and Canada's first publicly funded technical institute.

Petromanas Energy was a Canadian public company (PMI-TSX) undertaking oil exploration in Albania.

AITF was the largest part of Alberta's research and innovation system with a mandate to build sustainable technology businesses in the province. AITF at the time had an annual budget of $160 million and a suite of programs and services directed toward entrepreneurs, companies, researchers and investors.

FTS was a private joint venture of URS Corporation of San Francisco (who acquired Flint Energy Services in April 2012) and Transfield of Sydney, Australia. FTS Specialized in the provision of asset management services for large capital projects in the oil sands, refining and petrochemical sectors. Their clients included Suncor, CNRL, Nexen, Imperial Oil and Nova.

CIFAR, the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, fosters basic, conceptual research of high quality at an advanced level across the full spectrum of knowledge in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and life sciences. More than 1,000 researchers from over 30 countries have contributed to CIFAR research programs as fellows, advisors, Canada CIFAR AI Chairs, and CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars over the years.

The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) is a non-partisan, research-based industry association that advocates on behalf of their member companies, large and small, that explore for, develop, and produce oil and natural gas throughout Canada. Their associate members provide a wide range of services that support the upstream industry.

Represented CAPP in discussions with federal and provincial governments, indigenous communities, Canadian and US investors and other stakeholders as required.

Was the corporate officer responsible for EnCana's corporate responsibility, EHS Board Committee. Guided the Corporation's external relations with respect to government, regulatory, environmental, aboriginal and public issues in all Canadian and international jurisdictions where EnCana operated. Developed EnCana's Corporate Responsibility Policy and managed EnCana's environmental innovation fund, energy efficiency initiatives and community investment (50 - 90 million dollars/annum). Between 2007 and 2009 was also President of the Offshore and International Division responsible for management of capital programs, dispositions and planning for EnCana's international assets and the offshore Nova Scotia Deep Panuke natural gas project.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is a business association that, along with our network of local, regional, provincial and territorial chambers of commerce, communicates the needs of business to government at all levels to influence policies, regulations and decisions that are critical to creating a favourable business environment. It currently has over 400+ Chamber members, 100 Association members and represents over 200,000 Canadian businesses.

Lead the Board of Directors as a relatively large governing body mandated to provide oversight of the CCC business; approve the strategic plan, as recommended by management, and strategic decisions; and oversee the operational delivery of the CCC strategy and financial transactions (standard fiduciary responsibility).

Negotiated joint ventures with US company (Quicksilver) for coal bed methane technology; Norwegian company (Ocean Rig) for deep water drilling technology; and a Canadian firm (Calfrac) for well stimulation and completions capability.

• Led reorganization from functional to business unit structure at PANCANADIAN PETROLEUM LTD.• Established joint venture for Alberta heavy oil development (Petrovera), driving company growth.• Also served as President of PanCanadian Resources, overseeing operations.

After extensive regulatory proceedings and hearing testimony, negotiated a 20 year Nova gas transportation tolling agreement in lieu of construction of the Palliser pipeline, effectively ending 35 years of "postage stamp tolling" methodology in Alberta.

Was the founding President of CAPP following the merger of the Canadian Petroleum Association (CPA) and the Independent Petroleum Association of Canada (IPAC). Rationalized the governance and operational structures, reduced costs significantly and introduced new relationships and regulatory approaches with Canada's oil and natural gas pipeline companies. CAPP was also an original member of the federal government's Voluntary Challenge Program to curb greenhouse gas emissions.

IPAC was a trade association representing the interests of Canada's small and medium sized petroleum companies. During my tenure the annual investment symposium grew significantly to attract energy industry analysts and investors from throughout North America and Europe. IPAC was merged with the CPA (larger companies) to form CAPP to represent the entirety of the Canadian upstream petroleum sector.

Commenced as Director of Finance Planning in the Treasury Department and progressed through Executive Director of Economic Planning and Financial Analysis to an Assistant Deputy Minister in the Energy and Natural Resources Department. Highlights included extensive involvement in the Western Accord which removed the federal government's National Energy Program, the Canadian oil and natural gas deregulation processes and negotiations leading to the construction of major oilsands and pipeline projects. These activities involved regular and extensive briefings with Alberta ministers and the Premier and meetings with Federal Ministers and Ministers from other provinces. The position also involved significant negotiations between industry representatives and governments. On occasion, I represented Alberta in briefings and meetings with foreign governments and agencies.
