I have completed 25 years of exemplary service in the UK police, including leading multi-agency responses to international incidents worldwide with particular expertise in counter-terrorism investigations, counter-terrorist financing, anti-money laundering, anti-corruption & intelligence handling. I have been responsible for developing & coordinating investigative policy & strategies for use in global operations on behalf of the UK Police’s Counter Terrorism Command as well as for the Afghan Counter Terrorism Unit & the Somali Police Force. In the UK, I have managed investigation teams dealing with all types of major domestic crimes such as burglary, robbery, rape, assaults and murder. A fully qualified Financial Investigator, I have been deployed in South Africa, Singapore, Cyprus, Holland, Spain, Northern Ireland, Rep of Ireland & the Caribbean. I am a PRINCE2 qualified project manager. After a hugely productive 18months as the in-country lead for Axiom International on the UK Government Counter Terrorism program in Mogadishu, and a further 18months as the Counter-Terrorism Investigations Advisor on the US Government's highly successful policing program in Somalia, I am now performing the role of Deputy Mission Advisor on the US Program. The project consists of training and mentoring investigation and crime scene teams, an armed response team, an explosive ordnance disposal element; and a police information unit trained in surveillance, source handling, and analysis in support of complex CT investigations. In addition, the project is expanding to include direct mentorship of senior SPF training, logistics, and command staff.Reporting to the Mission Advisor my responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising contracted police advisory team personnel, serving as the Lead for a team of law enforcement counterterrorism investigation trainers, mentors and advisors and providing compliance in reporting, budgets, resources and deadlines to ensure the team achieves the overall mission objectives.Previously, I was seconded to the UK Government Foreign & Commonwealth Office, deployed to the British Embassy Kabul, managing and delivering an internationally recognised 2year capacity building, training & mentoring program for Afghan Counter Terrorism Police.
