  Linkedin ProfileResume highlights are an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB), part time Intellectual Property (IP) experience, and many years of aerospace industry exmployment, including 19 years as a Systems Engineer/ Project Manager at the Hughes Santa Barbara Research Center (1971 – 1989).After taking early retirement in 1990, I performed patent review, systems engineering and technical writing functions on a temporary contract basis for high technology firms in the Santa Barbara area. For example, I provided monthly patent activity reports to Digital Instruments for 10 years during the 1990’s showing applicable issued patents in Scanning Probe Microscopes. I also provided patent reports to Speech Technologies Laboratory and Wavefront Technologies in the Santa Barbara area, and to several clients outside our area (Cadence, Mentor among others).The most recent contract assignments were the following:1. Karl Storz Imaging, Nov 2010-Jan 2011: Supported intellectual property (IP) studies for the Patent Administrator at Karl Storz Imaging, concentrating on patent searches and initial infringement evaluation.2. Northrop Grumman Astro Research, June-July 2008: Established an Excel database for analysis of system requirements from customer specifications. Compiled the Requirements Verification Matrix.3. Raytheon Santa Barbara Remote Sensing (SBRS), March 2005-August 2006: Performed systems engineering functions on the Visible/Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) program, including requirements tracking, specification writing and requirements flow down. Performed documentation peer review on the Aerosol Polarization Sensor (APS) using special purpose software and database.My background also includes technical writing in the aerospace industry; and a book, Beginner’s Guide to Computer Logic, (McGraw-Hill Tab Books).
