Gerry purchased Sector Learning Solutions in 2004 and enrolled in a "streetwise MBA" until 2014. Gerry learning about running a business by, well, running a business! Gerry's primary focus at Sector was management, with a close second in SharePoint consulting and training, as well as business analysis and project management. Sector was the Runner-Up for the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce "BUSINESS OF THE YEAR (1-10) AWARD" in 2008 and 2012.In 2014 Gerry brokered a deal to sell the training portion of Sector to CTC TranCanada, and refocused the consulting practice as Lightlever Systems.

As a Director on this highly functioning and effective Board, Gerry helped re-establish the Prodigy group, including a mentoring program, and took on the role of Chair of the Governance Committee. As Governance Chair, Gerry established process for board evaluation, director recruitment, committee reporting, and external appointments of directors (to other boards).This was an excellent experience, but after 3 years he decided to step down and focus on core business opportunities for a while, with the refrain of "I'LL BE BACK!"

Worked in Tokyo as system analyst and programmer. Studied the language at the same time. (Yes, I still speak half decent Japanese).Went for one year assignment and stayed for 2.5. Was offered a job teaching at University of Wakkanai, but turned it down to retunr to my roots anf get re-canadianized. (Ask me about reverse culture shock sometime...)
