I have been working with Hemmera for over a year now helping to improve their data management framework During this time I have been working with ArcGIS for Server/ ArcSDE, PostgreSQL/PostGIS and MySQL database management systems along with a number of other supplementary systems such as Flowfinity field data collection system for iPad and SQL Server Reporting Services. (SSRS) I have helped to design and build a new, versatile and scaleable data management framework that integrates field, laboratory and business data using a well defined set of business rules and logic. This work includes sophisticated data modelling, needs and risk assessment, data management system and schema design as well as designing and developing an ETL strategy for data loading, security and maintenance. I am also providing some support in building web maps, map services and geo-processing services within the ArcGIS for Server environment. To accomplish this I am using ESRI's ArcGIS, Flex Builder, C# and Python along with other XML and web development tools. This work includes leveraging SQL Servers extensive triggering and function building capability to augment these applications giving power to them that would be difficult to achieve with web technology aloneI am also assisting with maintaining Hemmera's legacy data management system; Data Acquisition and Information System for HEmmera or DaisHe. In addition to maintaining this system I am also responsible for training data users and custodians in the proper use of the system and providing guidance to streamline their data management activities.

My partner and I started Meridian fill a need for reasonably priced remote sensing data and geospatial services . We provide a number of geomatics based services including data management consulting, GIS and remote sensing consulting and support, and design of custom data collection programs including provision of small scale aerial imagery and sensor data through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). We partnered with some innovative companies to offer both geospatial and multi-media imagery and video capture.My primary roll was to provide management input and technical oversight to Meridian and to our clients. I was involved with developing GIS strategies and providing GIS and data management consultations to our clients.

I was employed at Hatfield as the manager of their Geomatics Department from September 2010 until January 2013. I was brought on to manage the day to day operations of the group and to help promote it as multi-dimentional geospatial consulting group. My responsibilities during that time included:- Day to day management of a team of 8 geomatics professionals;- Managment of geomatics projects ranging in scale from $25,000 to $500,000;- Marketing of the geomatics group as a stand alone geospatial service provider;- Develop and perform GIS workflows for a number of geo-processing and analysis projects;- Develop web mapping and GIS environments in ArcGIS Server;- Script writing for automating and improving GIS workflows (Python);- Technical leadership in the area of GIS, remote sensing and data management; and- Client liaison and business development.This position allowed me to grow my technical and management skills particularly in the areas of remote sensing and international project management..

I brought my 12 years of experience (at the time) to bear in helping my clients make strategic decisions with regard to geospatial data and software infrastructure, and in designing geomatics and GIS processes to ensure timely and efficient workflows.

During my time at BGC I was instrumental in developing a geomatics department for the company. A key part of this involved providing strategic planning advice during the acquisition of a small geomatics company called GroundControl GeoTechnologies. Some of my other responsibilities at BGC included:- Strategic planning for the geomatics function at BGC;- Management of 14 geomatics professionals including GIS, CAD, and Database developers;- Overall management of the IT function including purchasing equipment and long term strategic planning;- Software evaluation and purchasing for GIS, CAD, Database and development job functions;- Geospatial analysis and application development in both commercial and open source platforms; and- Satellite image and air photo analysis and processing.

Provided a wide range of geospatial services to Groundcontrol ranging from basic data capture to development of custom tools in ArcView, MapInfo and AutoCAD environments.

I was responsible for satellite data acquisition, geologic map and drawing production, GIS analysis and business development. I utilized a number of software products including MapInfo, ER Mapper and AutoCAD. I was also required to create custom tools for the AutoCAD environment that streamlined the mapping work flow.

I was hired at this position as the primary GIS Analyst/Supervisor for a significant forestry project. This position required that I research and acquire the most appropriate software, hardware and staff. I was involved in the customization of ArcView 3.2 working towards a forestry mapping tool as well as creating AML macros to streamline the data capture work.

This position was an entry level job that initially required that I capture mapping data using Microstation. I was also involved in mono-restitution work for the BC Ministry of Forests. As I progressed in the postion I was required to do some more sophisticated mapping and AML macro writing in the ArcInfo environment.
