I managed the IBM business of a leading Tier 1 IBM partner, the only partner accredited to provide the full IBM portfolio of hardware and software in Ireland. Under my leadership we won a number of the largest and most significant IBM deals in the Irish market in recent times. These covered the implementation of a broad range and scale of enterprise solutions from virtual desktop environments through to delivery and implementation of mainframe solutions.

Within a short time of joining I led the negotiation of a management buyout. In a short timeframe I significantly reduced operating costs (drawing on valuable experience from my Smurfit Group career), launched the development of our own product and engaged with a number of potential investors (including Enterprise Ireland from whom we received development funding).

Included 6 years as IS Manager at Group HQ with repsonsibility for IT strategy and support, and 3 years as Programme Manager on a Europe-wide roll-out with responsibility for SAP infrastructure and Basis, networks and MS Exchange and related technologies and projects to 120+ sites. Managed a team of 20+ including specialist consultants. Continued to have some of my IS manager responsibities including setting the Group's IT and Security standards.
