From championing best practices to encouraging fun and participation, Equestrian Canada (formerly Equine Canada) is the dedicated national voice working to serve, promote and protect the interests of horses and Canada’s equestrian community.

Virtually unique in the international field of music festivals, Music and Beyond seeks to attract an even broader audience to classical music by tying together a wide range of other cultural disciplines.Over the course of a six-month contract, provided design, layout, and quality control in English and French for over 100,000 printed items including brochures, programs, posters, and advertisements for the 2011 Music and Beyond festival.

Processed all illustrative diagrams and photographs, and designed the cover of the Swissair Flight 111 Investigation Report for the Transportation Safety Board of Canada which won the 2003 Award of Excellence, Society for Technical Communication Online Competition.Devised a system for formatting documents in Chinese using in-house desktop publishing software, meeting a tight deadline without having to purchase additional software. Created artwork for several large-scale trade show displays based on the look and feel of the brochure.Designed an oversized brochure with 6 inserts for Western Economic Diversification Canada. Located a suitable printer based in Western Canada, coordinated printing and delivery to locations across Canada.

Successfully managed several long-term projects independently, ensuring complete client satisfaction.

Designed and formatted the Report on Atlantic Canada Technology Clusters 2000–2001, and the four Round Table Proceedings preceding it. The report and proceedings effectively demonstrated the NRC’s efforts to promote technology clustering—the growth of a significant concentration of R&D facilities—in Atlantic Canada, a key initiative for the NRC at the time. The report and proceedings were delivered on time and within budgetary restrictions, which was crucial as the Creative Services group operated on a cost recovery basis.

Was able to provide graphic design software training—despite the language barrier—by taking Vietnamese language instruction, thus enabling Vietnamese partners to continue working effectively with graphic design software upon completion of my internship.
