In my case it was not a conscious decision per say that got me involved in coaching. It was something that I had inside me that a very good and dear friend of mine actually saw and she put me in a position to develop it.I was asked to coach a provincial side in 2004. While actively still playing the game, and having a huge passion for people. I accepted this challenge and as my goal is never to settle for anything than the best I approached this challenge. With the Provincial u/19 men side that year we ended second. This after the provincial management entered in this age group for the first time ever. We were expected to "only get the boys exposed to the game"after this the bug got me big time. And below is a summary of the achievements of the teams whom I have coached through the years to date:2004 GN Men U/19 - Silver2004 GN Mixed Open - Gold2005 GN Men U/19 - Silver2006 GN Men U/19 - Gold2006 GN Mixed Open - Bronze2007 GN Men U/19 Silver2007 SA Ladies U/19 World Cup - Silver2008 GN Men U/19 Silver2009 GN Men U/19 Silver2009 GN Men U/17 Silver2010 GN Men U/19 Bronze2010 GN Mixed Open Bronze2011 SA Ladies U/19 World Cup - Third Place2012 - No teams Took time off for family2013 - Was asked to take the SA Ladies Open on tour to India and Sri Lanka but due to work cannot take leave.2013 - GN Men U/23 (STBP)Working with a very dynamic team of players and has the support of an excellent assistant coach, and manager. Will get that Gold back.
