Prof. Dr. Gert Bruche has held senior positions as Managing Director for Schering AG’s China subsidiary in Hong Kong, as Director of worldwide Strategic Marketing for the global business unit Diagnostic Imaging, and as consultant in the company’s corporate strategy unit. He has advised German and Asian healthcare companies on strategy and during transactions. Gert Bruche serves on the advisory board of the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV), and the German Heart Center, Berlin.In his university career Gert Bruche served as Dean and Vice President of the Berlin School of Economics and Law and as a Director of Executive Training Programs for a pharmaceutical multinational company at the Nanyang Business School in Singapore. He has also worked with the United Nations Development Program in Turkey, and led a research unit at the International Institute of Management, Science Center (WZB) Berlin. Gert Bruche is Professor of International Management at the Berlin School of Economics and Law and holds a Dipl.-Ing. degree from Technische Universität Berlin and a PhD in Economics from Freie Universität Berlin. In his research he focuses on Asia, especially on innovation, healthcare markets, German Mittelstand companies’ strategies in Asia, and M&A of companies from China and India.
