International Management Trainee

Svenstrup, Nordjylland

This trainee programme is an 18 months long new development programme at Royal Greenland, intended for aspiring young people who are dedicated to pursue a leading position in the fishing industry. In my case, I’ve been lucky enough to be placed at the Category Department of Royal Greenland in Svenstrup, a department that connects the chain of production, sales and marketing. And at this moment, this programme has given me a comprehensive overview of the market of prawns, right from the production in Greenland, to the plants in Denmark and Poland and sales in Scandinavia. This job brought me to various departments and different projects, i.e.:Tromsø & Oslo / Norway:I have been assigned with different projects that cover the market of prawns, for instance the market of shell-on prawns and the competition in Norway. Malmö / Sweden:I had another project about the Swedish retailers, where I spent 3 months in our Malmö sales-office, and made a store check of the different products and prices from other competing companies. Japan / China:Market research and project about raw prawns sold to the Asian market. Manchester / UK:I've spent 3 months in the Manchester sale-office and had a project about the british market of food service and retail.Nuuk / Greenland:Business Development Greenland and a market research about Sea Urchins.Take a look at this link below, to read a small piece of my thoughts of this company and this programme (text in danish)http://www.royalgreenland.com/dk/HR/International-Management-Trainee/M%C3%B8d-Gerth.aspx
