As lecturer and senior researcher at the HAN University of Applied Science Nijmegen, I enjoy educating bachelor and master students to improve their knowledge and skills in changing health behaviours. Besides, in the changing world of cure and care, health professionals have to take up new roles in which patient centredness and integrated care are key concepts. Connecting people and leading teams in the process of development and implementation of innovations and education, in particular in health care and disease prevention, is one of my main interests. In my background in physical therapy and health promotion these subjects are united.As a researcher, topics of interest are organization of care, health care implementation, lifestyle interventions and patient communication. Health equity has my special interest as well as the collaboration of health care professionals, professionals in the social and public domain and citizens and the interaction between behavioral and environmental factors.
