He supports the AIA Office of Legislative Affairs by drafting testimony… Show more Strategically, Gery represents approximately 360 aerospace manufacturers on technical, regulatory, and legislative issues to ensure the Aerospace, Space & Defense Industry remains resilient in an ever changing global market economy. In this role, he's the catalyst of critical collaboration between his industry constituents and the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the branches of the military and other govt. agencies. He supports the AIA Office of Legislative Affairs by drafting testimony presented during congressional hearings and focuses on strengthening US national security interests by supporting critical military acquisitions and readiness initiatives. Tactically, Gery is responsible for managing the resolution of complex policy and regulatory issues, establishing Industry consensus positions and developing industry standards for the Aerospace and Defense industry. Currently, Gery is AIA’s Staff Director for their Engineering Management Committee, Product Support Committee, Quality Assurance Committee, Counterfeit Electronics Policy Working Group and the DCMA/ IAQG Joint Strategic Quality Council. He represents US aerospace industry as a member of the S-Series ILS & S1000D International Councils. He presently serves as the S1000D Council Secretary and previously served as the Chair of the 2018 S1000D User Forum Task Team. Prior to joining AIA in 2013, Gery worked in the aerospace industry for 25 years and is credited for the project leadership, engineering development and deployment of various military flight simulators, weapons tactics trainer, maintenance trainers and electronic warfare training systems. Gery has held several engineering management positions supporting R&D initiatives, new business pursuits, the evaluation and implementation of enterprise business solutions and contributed to a variety of successful six-sigma Kaizen events.
