Employed as Technical Lead and frontend developer my role at Burfield is to oversee the production and maintenance of our wide range of client websites. Focusing primarily on custom WordPress theme development, I bring our designers' ideas to life, realising them in HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and PHP.Mobile is the future at Burfield and as such a key part of my role focuses on developing our in-house capability to utilise "Responsive Web Design" techniques on our clients' websites. I harness the power of SASS (inc. Compass) to first prototype and then build out production-ready frontend experiences which provide a seemless experience across a range of devices and viewing platforms.I also work with management and the other department leads to oversee business development and ongoing company strategy and processes.

During my 5 years at Deep Blue Sky my primary role was as lead designer and frontend developer specialising in HTML5 and CSS3. During my tenure I formed fruitful working relationships with all of our clients, big and small, designing and producing successful websites which helped grow their businesses and fulfil their goals online.A particular success was my introduction of an internal CSS Framework which, being modular in nature, helped to streamline the production of websites and allowed all members of the technical team to participate in frontend development.Over time I was required to take on an increasingly managerial role within the company and became involved in all aspects of the business including both project and account management. Notably, I was entrusted with the safe running of the company during two sabbatical's taken by my employer. During this time I gained valuable business-level experience and in particular an understanding of how to directly manage small teams working to tight deadlines.
