For over 26 years, Les Taylor served as Tempe’s Assistant Chief of Police and Executive Officer supervising 400 civilian and sworn personnel as well as helping individuals, teams, and projects increase performance and reach greater success in their business results. The biggest challenge was managing the growth of the department during the 1980’s and 1990’s. The department quadrupled in size in the nearly 3 decades he served on the department ... so you can imagine the growth challenges that were faced.Specialties: • As a Police Executive, he oversaw both the patrol and investigations sides of the department.• As Assistant Police Chief, he represented the department in a number of venues and did a great deal of public speaking, as well as internal training and development but most of the speaking was in the community – representing the department.
