As the Sales Technology Manager my principal goal is understanding what is and what isn't achievable. The clients range from major oil companies to small contracting companies, from senior executives to junior staff just learning how to use the product: Clients located globally. ■ Discuss and understand the challenges the clients are trying to meet■ Manage their expectations of what can be achieved.■ Represent Product in Client Senior executive strategy meetings.■ Supply technical assistance to regional support teams and directly to clients.■ Visit clients in their offices around the world to better understand their challenges.■ Prioritise very diverse requirements in the development cycle with tight budget constraints.■ Act as Product Owner in the Agile process. As Product Champion the aim is to:■ Take the value proposition of our software products to our clients.■ Create understanding of requirements with R+E from the requests voiced by clients for their needs/challenges, ■ Communicate the development plans to our regional sales force.■ Inform the customer, as part of this, I have made several sales presentations at major industry conferences. To improve the commercialization process to get our products to market faster whilst maintaining reliability I had to persuade the various stakeholders that change was needed:■ Introduced a standard Pricing Process for our Geophysical Processing Platform. This is used for all Modules for the platform.■ Created a standard commercialisation process for sales.■ Designed and developed a SharePoint site for managing client development requests and status of development to share with global team.■ Defined a clear process of what is expected in a commercial product.■ Guided, as LEAN Master, a team of LEAN practitioners to remove bottlenecks in workflows used.
