About Geoff Gardner

I began as a civil engineer, then transport modeller, then road safety in low-income countries and now sustainable transport and behaviour change.I have been privileged to work in a wide range of public and private sector bodies. Working on large housing developments, transport strategies and travel plans. My M.Phil examined the appraisal process for mass transit systems comparing BRT, Light Rail and Metro.I was the leader of the cycling team at TRL which led to an interest (and an A level and diploma) in Psychology and Marketing respectively. I aim to know more about civil engineering than most psychologists and more about psychology than most civil engineers. I discovered another ‘ology’ and was a member of an ESCR expert group in sociological change and climate change. For recreation, I do whatever my two sons are into. This week it is mountain biking and the Raspberry Pi. Despite (or perhaps because of) being the former travel awareness officer for North Yorkshire I prefer to spend leisure time in interesting metropolises.Specialties: Sustainable transport, marketing, BRT, cycling, behaviour change
