Helped to create and develop marketing, sales, and financial strategies. Established industry relationships for the company that has positioned the brand to be a major factor in the sunglass industry. Worked extensively with the management team to create a brand identity and focused go-to-market strategy. Company has increased revenues each month it has been in existence and is the class of the interchangeable sunglass marketplace.

Brought into company which had little financial reporting or control systems in place. Developed reporting guidelines and initiated many cost savings programs which garnered actual results. Took lead on implementing a new ERP system, which is poised to move the company forward and into compliance with major retail environment. Established new banking relationships and incorporated process controls which led to improved revenues and profitability.

Hired to bring structure and organization to the accounting and finance team. Developed metrics and reporting tools to help measure the actual business results and outcomes. Developed cash flow modeling and divisional reporting outputs that generating real cost savings results. Help to turn company around to positive cash flow, by identifying cost savings initiatives and revenue generating strategies. Company is now again profitable and operating as a leader in its industry.

Hired to provide strategic direction to this fast growing sports fitness company. Developed business plans, strategic plans, financial projections and valuations to attract investors. Also provided a roadmap for business expansion as company is planning a nation-wide rollout of a new concept. Established meetings with potential private equity firms, and acted as key liaison between management and investing concerns.

Hired to provide leadership and structure to the financial team for this federally funded non-profit healthcare clinic. Managed 3 direct reports including financial accountant, revenue manager and A/R manager.Some key accomplishments are:• Created investment policy for the organization and presented to the Board of Directors for approval.• Developed updated reporting system to the Board that clarified the reporting metrics into a more readable and understandable format.• Renegotiated new lease agreement for the clinic and presented to the Board which resulted in a 10% annual savings.

I was brought in to provide strategic leadership and direction for all finance, IT, and HR activities supporting this $45 million women's apparel manufacturer. The company has 4 divisions, Sharon Young, City Girl, Tru Luxe Jeans, and Jerell Clothing. Recently added to 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 Inc's 5000 fastest growing private companies in the U.S. Some examples of my accomplishments are:• Assessed underperforming finance and information technology teams, established operating metrics, hired personnel, and implemented processes and systems to ensure the accurate and timely financial reporting/analysis needed to support an 80% company-wide growth rate. • Designed and integrated a new financial system with an existing production system including a reporting process highlighting gross margin opportunities resulting in a 25% cost savings by consolidating overseas shipments at the point of origin.• Proposed and implemented a paperless accounts receivable process reducing response time to customer accounts receivable inquiries saving over 50% in personnel time.• Overhauled and updated the HR department to transition to a PEO, and created employee manual and job descriptions for all company employees. Renegotiated company-wide health insurance and worker’s compensation agreements which resulted in a 15% annual savings.• Developed and implemented an import compliance program to improve communication with foreign manufacturers saving $200,000+ in annual import duty charges for prior and future years.• Led a project team that uncovered unused Research and Development tax credits. I directed the day to day financial and accounting functions for a $200 million international manufacturer and distributor of sunglasses. I was responsible for all the general accounting activities and financial management systems. Additionally I managed 10 direct reports including accounts payable and accounts receivable managers, a financial analyst, and a staff accountant. The company went through tremendous growth during my tenure with the company, and I helped the company open new international markets in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, Australia, and Mexico.Some examples of my accomplishments are:• Developed financial analytical reports which facilitated and improved management’s operational decisions. Partnered with cross functional managers to develop a budget and forecasting program encouraging ownership of departmental budgets and reducing expenditures by 10% annually. • Played key role in the conversion of the general ledger system from Lawson to a proprietary ERP system. Established a cash and treasury management system which improved cash flow and investment income. Created an automated purchasing card program saving over $50,000 per year.• Developed international accounting policies to support expansion in Canada, France, and México. Implemented a foreign currency exchange hedging program using forward contracts, which brought the company into compliance with GAAP, mitigated risk, and saved $200,000 annually. • Uncovered more than $700,000 in unclaimed discount checks held by the state.
