Driving public health initiatives by integrating research, student teaching, academic advising, and community engagement to create programs that address health disparities and promote wellness across diverse populations. Focused on providing meaningful learning experiences for students through hands-on projects, mentorship, and collaborative partnerships that bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world public health practice.

Teach a variety of Public Health courses. Some of those courses include Introduction to Public Health, Global Health, Introduction to Public Health Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Promotion in the Corporate World, Global Health Nutrition, and Introduction to the US Health Care System.

I am responsible for the day-to-day operations, program planning, and assisting with the supervision of staff for the Center, which is housed within a low-income community in the City of Fullerton. I work with community stakeholder, the Center Executive Director and College Dean to update the Center Strategic Plan and assist with the implementation of its goals and activities. I also work closely with the Center Executive Director to coordinate community-based participatory faculty research at the Center. As the Director of Operations, I assist the Center Executive Director in working with community stakeholders to initiate and coordinate innovative community outreach, training, and marketing strategies to address education and health inequities, especially among Spanish-speaking residents.

Develop Public Health Courses.

Course taught: Natural Hazards, Health Promotion for the Corporate World, Introduction to Statistics, Global Burden of Disease.

I mentored and supervised over 100 diverse undergraduate minorities interested in pursuing a graduate degree.

I assisted the Director of Operations, Dr. Jessie Jones, in the planning, implementing, and evaluating programs. I also assisted with overseeing staff, facility, and program budget management.

• Manage the company’s safety programs, with goal of reducing frequency and severity of work-related injuries/illnesses, lowering mod rating and loss ratios, and formalizing/expanding safety training• Develop, implement, delivers and supervise training programs for branch office managers in the areas of – processing workers’ compensation claims, how to interact with employees who have sustained worker-related injuries, and developing return-to-work programs.

The SURF program at UCI provides an intense course of Ph.D. preparation workshops in addition to doing research. My job was to supervise the incoming cohort.

Develop educational webinars/tutorials for Health Professionals and facilitate with the trainings for the California Nevada Public Health Training Center. Assist & conduct an experiment to determine the optimized message contents of imminent threat alerts and warnings delivered over mobile communication devices. This is part of a research team that received a $952,004 contract from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate through the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) based at the University of Maryland. Dr. Michele M. Wood, whom I work for is the Principle Investigator from CSUF.

Perform physical testing on research participants with and without fibromyalgia over the age of 50, in order to examine effects of fibromyalgia on aging. Data collection, data base management & event planning.

Communicate with authors, reviewers, & associate editors for the Journal. Formatting manuscripts for publication as well as updating the CJHP website.

Worked closely with the Executive Director to sustain, promote, and grow sales. Managed budgets for all company operations. Participated in strategic planning. Over 30% growth in sales revenue during 2000 and 2012.
