Data analyst for Electronic Health Records (EHR, EMR) analyzing and safeguarding clinical data.• Subject matter expert on HIPAA and deidentifying patient data. Several potential patents filed with the company on methods to deidentify the data. • Improved quality of data for analytics by filling the missing data when possible (e.g. filling in the codes from text descriptions, filling BMI if height and weight are provided etc.), standardizing units and values, removing duplicates, removing erroneous data etc. • Responsible for getting the data Statistician Certified so that it could be shared with selected partners for analytics and clinical research.• Responsible for converting the data into OMOP format for standardization. • Trained data partners on using the data. Provided on-going technical support regarding proper use of data and to research their issues. • Familiar with clinical codes such as ICD9, ICD10, SNOMED, CPT, LOINC, HCPCS, NDC, RxNorm etc. • Used Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning methods to extract clinical information from unstructured text notes, e.g. finding Heart Failure symptoms in the notes, finding atopic dermatitis flares and their severity and treatments etc.• Implemented several Reynolds and Framingham Risk Score models for identifying high risk patients in various diseases • Used Agile process for managing the teams and work priorities.

Solved a variety of business problems and developed proof-of-concept solutions through tools and techniques in statistical modelling, data mining, text mining and social media anlytics. Accomplishments include:• Performed customer segementation and studied the effectiveness of rebates and promotions for a retailer. • Using Lucene and SPSS Modeler for text mining, mapped one set of 4700 documents to another set of documents, identified duplicates, extracted main themes, and clustered documents. • Researched over 100 Social Media Analytics tools with a deeper dive search into 30 and hand-on trials with 6 tools. • Developed best practices, checklists and templates for data search terms, search sites and data cleaning for gathering relevant social media data around a topic of interest.• Performed social media data analysis for drugs pharmacovigilance including sentiment analysis and customized categorization. Produced samples of summary reports.• Technical lead for starting an analytics certification program for Deloitte practitioners which had over 200 participants by the time I left the company.
