PTCL hired its officers through all Pakistan open competition that included written exam, interview and later 6 months technical and 1 month management training in Haripur Hazara.I was selected, trained and posted as Assistant Manager in Karachi on first assignment of establishing and operating centralized Operations and Maintenance Center in Karachi for fixed voice network.Established Centralized NOC in collaboration with ZTE engineers, defined and implemented centralized operations processes and KPIs to perform routine operation and maintenance activities from centralized office rather than individual exchanges. Supported multiple automation initiatives executed through partner vendors which included the development of automatic blocking and restoration of phone connection based on billing payment status and integration of all exchanges to centralized billing center to push CDRs and billing records rather than recoding on Tapes or disks to avoid revenue leakage.
