Gherardo started his career in mainframe software applications, and then in the late 80s, become involved in the introduction and spread of relational databases - managing several software projects in client/server applications, software engineering and decision support systems. At this time Gherardo moved to Datamat (one of the top five Italian SI) where he spent 9 years contributing to the design, implementation and deployment of several Analytics systems for medium and large companies. Within Datamat, as technical director for the Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse Business Unit, Gherardo also became involved with the European Commission as domain expert for database and data warehousing. Working for Oracle since 1998, Gherardo has managed a BI&DWH consulting demand team, a BI&DWH presales team and the Partner Technology presales team, contributing to the definition of several Analytics reference architecture for some of the most important Italian customers. Then he managed the Business Intelligence Business Unit for Italy and was Business Development Manager for Business Intelligence for Italy, Iberia and IASG (International Accounts). He was then Senior Director of the Technology Insight Program in Italy for three years and Global Client Advisor for the Financial Services IBU for Unicredit and Intesa Sanpaolo for two years. Since June 2013 he is Solution Director for BI Platform and BI Cloud Platform in the EMEA Business Analytics Solution Management Team.He has a well-established experience in working for Multinational Companies, with growing responsabilities in international positions, strong knowledge of IT market, various management competences developed in complex and multicultural organizations.
