My employers have included city governments, a marketing agency, an environmental non-profit, a large education provider, and several independent clients. I have also taught typography at the college level. I have worked collaboratively as well as independently on print materials, advertising and marketing campaigns, and web content and design. I am experienced with the main Adobe design programs, using them both for creating digital content and editing traditional art. I know from experience that it is important to have one’s own voice as a graphic designer, however one also must fit in with established guidelines.At the heart of art should be enjoyment; if a piece isn’t enjoyable to look at/experience then it’s a complete failure. But that doesn’t mean that everything needs to be raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens; beyond the visceral enjoyment should be cerebral substance. That is what makes good art.
