I am co-founder, president, and Business Developer of the Biotechnology Deeptech startup: Woodlight. We are developing the first bioluminescent plants able to reshape the cities of tomorrow.Woodlight is a research and development startup for new biotechnologies. Its goal is to provide bioluminescent plants as a solution by adressing the markets of luxury design, urbanism and architecture.The aim is to create a wide range of plants that can emit their own light autonomously. These innovative products will be green lamps, with several designs, both energy-saving and fully recyclable, brightening the atmosphere and improving citizens' quality of life.These plants can be used as mood lighting for interior decoration in homes, for events (weddings, trade shows, conferences, etc.), or for professionals (restaurants, hotels, atmospheric bars, café terraces, shop windows, etc.). Beyond these initial markets, these plants could subsequently be used as a vegetal alternative to city streetlights or as beacons in parks and gardens. Woodlight has reached a seed fundraising, and now is looking for first prototypes expected in september.

I worked on the design of a network of Fab labs at the University of Strasbourg.The goal is to bring together multidisciplinary teams (Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, etc.) and to allow many more exchanges between the academy, startups and companies.Creativity and innovation are everywhere, interfaces are needed to exchange and work together.A complete pipeline including this design and prototyping phase, which is lacking in Strasbourg, will boost innovation by ensuring a pool of constant and motivated entrepreneurs.
