Conceptualized and developed cell-based in vitro models to answer complex biological problems. Led federally funded multi-center research project involving academic institutions (in US and Europe) and the biotechnology industry.✯ Identified a novel mechanism of action of Trastuzumab (Herceptin®) in breast cancer patients, potentially providing reasons why some patients respond to the drug whereas others remain resistant.✯ Identified molecular mechanism by which low-frequency mutations could lead to resistance to anti-cancer drugs in patients with breast cancer.
