    Managed a small IT team.Designed and developed Access and Oracle databases. I provided external support for a database that I designed that was subsequently sold to two UK universities. Provided IT support to staff and students, and had responsibility for the local network and three servers (two data, one web). I was involved in all areas of network administration, such as user and server management, implementing group policy, upgrading servers, checking daily backups, dealing with all security/virus issues, patching the network, and disaster recovery.Maintained all computer equipment, researched and purchased new software and hardware, and disposed of old equipment, paying particular attention to data protection.Created and kept up-to-date the departmental website using classic ASP.Designed programs in Visual Basic that streamlined processes that assisted colleagues.Developed an authentication system (using ASP and Oracle) that allowed various categories of users to have their own account, each with varying levels of permissions.Ran training courses for staff.
