Giancarlo Guizzardi has been working in the fields of Ontology, Conceptual Modeling, Advanced Information Systems Engineering and Enterprise Semantics for circa three decades. He is currently a Full Professor of Software Science and Evolution and Chair & Department Head of Semantics, Cybersecurity and Services at the University of Twente, in The Netherlands. He is also an Affiliated/Guest Professor at the Department of Data and Systems Science at Stockholm University, in Sweden.Over the years, he has worked in technology transfer initiatives in these areas in sectors such as Software Engineering, Energy, Finance, Complex Media Management, Healthcare, Digital Journalism, Government, Tourism, Cybersecurity, Mobile Payment, among others.He has authored circa 400 peer-reviewed publications (more than a dozen of which received paper awards). He has also played key roles in renowned international conferences such as general chair, program chair, program board member, as well as in renowned international journals such as associate editor and member of editorial boards. He has been an invited speaker in more than 80 International Events (e.g., ER, CAiSE, BPM, IEEE ICSC).He is an advisory board member of the International Association for Ontology and its Applications (IAOA) and an ER Fellow (https://conceptualmodeling.org/ER_Fellows.html)
