English-Italian Technical translator. Italian native speaker. I work as a freelance translator for customers in Europe, USA and Canada.I lived in the UK (London area) from 1993 to 2004. Currently I live and work in São Paulo, Brazil (since 2007).

Working for the translators' community. My contribution to this translation portal was aimed at raising the ethical standards in the business, add business opportunities and create better features for the site members. Left the position (as a volunteer) due the portal switching from a community-driven site to a blatantly commercial and totally profit-driven environment, where respect for translator and for the profession is very low in priority. It is a shame because the two aspects could have been combined, but they are not.I have now lost interest in the site as a community, and lost hope it will ever run any project for the benefit of translators, unless they can squeeze money out of it. Translation of ERP products, user interface, documentation, marketing material into Italian. Developed some software in VBA to automate the pre-post processing of many thousand documents in Word and Powerpoint.

- Translation and review of software and related documentation to be localized into Italian.- Software linguistic check, functionality testing and bug database handling.- Co-ordination between project managers, software engineers, translators, DTP staff and clients' reviewers.- Compiling and debugging on-line help.- Training and evaluation of junior translators and freelancers- Final QA after DTP.- Language QA for recording session with Italian voice talents.

Providing professional ERP services, training, standard software packages and custom applications to commercial companies and professional studies in Cagliari (Italy) and the surrounding region. The company grew with me to 7 employees and about 400 clients.In 1993 I have left the company that I had created, but the company is still operating with success in its local market, in Italy.
