Planned cultural events, conducted nightly rounds of UVA's three Language Houses, and served as a resource for the 30 residents of UVA's French House. The UVA French House (la Maison Française), built in 1894 as the Barringer Mansion, is on the National Register of Historic Places. Students at the French House lived in a French-only immersive environment with myself and a Language Advisor from Paris, France. The residence is the largest of its kind at any American university, and was originally envisioned by UVA founder Thomas Jefferson.

Worked alongside Dr. Morgan Simpson on the immune response to the toxins of C. difficile bacteria, in the infectious disease lab of Dr. William A. Petri, Jr. As the most common hospital-acquired infection, C. difficile infects hundreds of thousands in the U.S. each year and kills tens of thousands. Specifically, we investigated the relationship between the toxin CDT and toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2), a receptor that triggers inflammatory pathways associated with more severe disease.
