My purpose was to work directly with the City of Chico Urban Forester to meet the goals of the Urban Forest Revitalization Project: a city-wide project in collaboration with non-profit organization, Butte Environmental Council, to plant 700 trees in low-income and disadvantaged neighborhoods.To reach this goal, I planned and organized volunteer tree-planting events, including site selection, logistics, materials procurement, and volunteer coordination. I developed and implemented outreach strategies to engage community members in the project, including door-to-door solicitation, social media campaigns and community events.We exceeded the goal of the project and planted over 1,000 trees in urban areas of our community.
