The Miami Youth Climate Summit is a youth-led organization seeking to engage youth in climate solutions through an educational lens. The team represents 11 local public and private schools and organizes an annual event where students have the opportunity to hear from professionals and experts working in the climate movement across a variety of perspectives moving the needle within students minds from “what is climate change” to “what can I do about it?”- Oversaw 50 team members and founded 7 departments for the Miami Youth Climate Summit, which aims to increase climate literacy and inspire action among youth.- Coordinated 66+ speakers and workshops alongside the committee, advancing diversity and intersectionality.- Increased event attendance by 1,500+ from the initial year, with the 2021 virtual summit engaging students from 18 countries across 6 continents.- Secured notable speakers including Danni Washington, the first African-American woman to host her own science TV series, and Andres Ruzo, National Geographic explorer granted first access to study the Boiling River of the Amazon.
