I am a recent alumna of Boston University with a passion for problem-solving and helping others. My most recent position as an Evaluation Coordinator at the non-profit More than Words is associated with my service as an AmeriCorps VISTA service member for the 2023-2024 service year. My service, which will be completed at the end of October, introduced me to the career path I aim to pursue - program and data evaluation. My education as a Biology major at Boston University was the groundwork for finding passion and success in this role.I was an undergraduate research assistant for the Sensory Morphology and Genomic Anthropology Lab at Boston University. As a research assistant, I focused on studying the population structure and genetic diversity of the PPARG gene in South African vervet monkeys, Chlorocebus pygerythrus. My passion for helping others formed at a young age through membership in the Girl Scouts of Orange County and the National Honor Society. As a university student, I continued to have a positive impact on my community as a member of the ACS on Campus Club with the American Cancer Society at Boston University, as well as transferring the skills I have gained to customer-facing positions where I provided customers with great experiences both at the register and in the arena.
