Under the supervision of Pr. Mary Kang I aim to study and budget the emissions of methane from abandoned oil and gas wells in North America and in the world.

Working on two drastically different projects for the aeronautic industry: developing an icephobic coating and a high compression modulus liquid shim (epoxy adhesive).Discovering a new work environment: a SMB selling products to multinationals. Complying with precise specifications from important aeronautic constructors. Consequent bibliographic studies for innovative project (icephobic coating).

My job at PPG Auckland consisted in trying to formulate a water-based and chrome free primer for coil coating. The primer is the first layer of paint applied on the coil and it protects the metal agaisnt corrosion. Solvent and Chrome are known to be polluting agents and PPG is trying to create an eco-friendly primer by getting rid of them.For this project, I had to do some bibliographic researches first, in order to understand the background of the project. Then, I formulated the paints and did some mechanical tests on them (to make sure they met basic specifications). After that, I had to shape panels and do corrosion tests. It took some time to get results, but at the end of the internship, I was able to bring some good results or leads to the company.
