PROTOP Engineering Services provides cable engineering, design, construction, maintenance, asset monitoring and management services for projects within the utilities, infrastructure and facilities sectors.Projects:- Port Augusta Renewable Energy Park (P.A.R.E.P), Prysmian Representative, Quality Control, MV Cables (South Australia)- Victorian Big Battery 220kV Cable Connection Installation Design (Victoria)- Mortlake South Wind Farm 220kV Cable Connection Installation Design & Quality Control (Victoria), where I led the design engineering team in preparing the full suite of design documentation including technical drawings, design reports, technical specifications, calculation reports in collaboration with the cable manufacturer, as well as quality assurance documentation, as-built documentation and the Operation & Maintenance Manual.- A number of proposals and investigations of other cable projects in tender phaseMy role at PROTOP has been comprised of a wide range of activities, including:- Preparation of Cable Engineering Technical Documentation, Manuals & Specifications;- Preparation of Engineering Reports;- CAD Drafting & Design using AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor;- Calculations including cable rating, cable losses, earth grid resistance, cable pulling tension, etc.- Actively Participating in Safety in Design (SiD) Workshops, Design Reviews and Constructability, Operability & Maintainability (COM) Workshops, HAZOP Workshops;- Tender Submission & Tender Evaluation;- Estimating & Quantity Surveying- Project planning using Microsoft Project; - Risk management including running risk assessment workshops and management of risk register;- SQE Management administration;- Site Acceptance and Quality Control;- Thorough investigation into asset monitoring technologies including distributed temperature sensing, distributed strain sensing and distributed acoustic sensing;- Business Strategy Development; and- Operation & Maintenance Manual Writing

An exciting petroleum engineering honours project at the Australian School of Petroleum (ASP) in collaboration with the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS). This projects looked to investigate the absorption spectroscopy of methane and other constituents of natural gas, identifying concentrations of various gases within a sample.This project was student-initiated with partner Shayan Afshar and allowed a great experience in collaboration between fields, as well as a systematic approach to problem solving and hands-on optics lab experience.

This was a mechanical engineering honours project which was undertaken in conjunction with the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing at the University of Adelaide. It was a very exciting project, which gave the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding in a completely new and relatively unexplored field. A theoretical understanding of the mechanisms which allow a rare-earth doped ZBLAN glass to achieve cryogenic temperatures by means of laser excitation was gained and this theoretical framework was used to apply the concept to a number of potential applications where cryogenic temperatures are necessary.From this, myself and my honours partner (William Rogers) authored the ANZCOP (Australia and New Zealand Conference on Optics and Photonics) publication 'Optimisation of Rare-Earth Materials for Laser Cooling' (2015) and presented a poster at the conference.

I worked at Drake Foodland for over 7 years, where I carried out my work with great pride and my great work ethic helped me to efficiently complete a wide range of tasks in a practical manner. I had extensive experience in various departments of the store including grocery, checkout, meat department, dairy and also spent approximately three months working full time as a storeman, where I was responsible for all the deliveries to the store and the accompanying invoice paperwork. Treating this casual job seriously and as a stepping stone to gain experience for my future career allowed me to gain a strong reputation as a diligent, trustworthy and highly regarded employee.
