Bechtel:Since joining Bechtel in early 2011, Frederick Gibson has worked on a range of large scale projects from building design to BIM for new metro systems to master planning for ports and entire cities. During that time he has pioneered the use of innovative BIM & VDC design technology in diverse multi-functional teams. As the Virtual Project Delivery Integration Lead, in addition to establishing full VPD project execution plans and innovation with BIM 5D automated cross-functional quantity systems, Frederick launched Bechtel's InnovationHub (iHub), a semantically linked knowledge repository with inference.Previously, Frederick was a senior architect at Bechtel Civil's Project Planning and Development group (PPD) as well as the PPD BIM lead and Bechtel Corporate Revit User Product Manager. He has been working in the architectural profession for 26 years and practicing architecture for the last 15 years. Throughout his career, Frederick has pioneered the use of computer technology for design, design visualization, engineering documentation and project management with full BIM starting in 2003 with Revit. Software Development:After extensive programming in High School and then learning Lisp in the early 90's, founded StreamFocus.com with Mike Hinchey in 2006/2007, a workflow/email productivity SaaS web application. Coding for StreamFocus is in lisp on the backend plus countless libraries running on Amazon's EC2 and S3 cloud. Imap, Openid and Oauth are used to tightly integrate with Google Apps. For the frontend, we are using bootstrap on top of jQuery to create a truly dynamic and fast application running on the browser with ajax calls only made when necessary to the server providing a great user experience.
