Growing up, I never really liked sports. I grew up in rural Colorado, so I was more focused on 4-H than athletics. Even when I moved to the big city, I never really understood the appeal until my sophomore year of high school. I went to a basketball game, and everything clicked in my head. It was magical, and the energy that filled my heart while at an event was like no other. I had been doing speech and debate for years, and when I watched the Nuggets in the NBA Bubble in 2020, I realized that there was a way to combine those two passions: Sports Commentating. For the past two years, I have been studying Journalism and Media Communications at Colorado State University, with an emphasis on broadcast television in order to fulfill my dream of becoming a color commentator. I have also been working with multiple organizations, most notably with the Playmaker's Corner podcast and Rocky Mountain Student Media.With Playmaker's Corner, I cover Colorado high school football and girls' flag football, with an emphasis on Northern Colorado. I travel around the state, watch games, report on and cover them. I also vote on All-State teams for different classifications, and I participate in media polls for power rankings throughout the state. With Rocky Mountain Student Media, I serve a number of soles. First, I am the Student Equipment Manager, which means that I track, maintain, and replace inventory throughout the company. I work closely with our CEO to ensure that we keep track of as much equipment as possible. I have also worked with CTV 11, where I was a co-anchor on the "Cooks" variety show, a show where we covered food in the greater Fort Collins area. Finally, I work as a volunteer in the sports department at 90.5 KCSU, where I have done live sideline reporting and color commentating.I hope to bring the skills I have gathered into the professional workspace, and bring my love of athletics to the world.
