I'm the CEO of the Tent Partnership for Refugees -- a coalition of 400+ global companies committed to connecting refugees to decent jobs, by hiring, training, and mentoring.Although I was born in South Africa, I've spent a number of years working for the U.S. government -- most recently, taking a leave of absence from Tent to serve as Chief of Staff to Samantha Power at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). I also served throughout President Obama's two terms -- including at the National Security Council at the White House and the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, working on a range of security and human rights issues.I started my career in the private sector, working as an attorney in the international trade practice of Hogan Lovells and as a consultant at McKinsey & Company.
