Research Technician - Hybrid 45 Tesla Magnet

The challenge is to transfer the 20kA from a conductor at room temperature to a super conductor at a temperature nearby absolute zero. The superconducting coil together with a copper coil (Bitter magnet) will form a hybrid magnet which ultimately will generate a magnetic field of 45 tesla.
