YVCF's mission is to lead transformational change throughout the Yampa Valley by engaging donors in purposeful philanthropy, empowering local nonprofit organizations, inspiring impactful grantmaking, and collaborating to build vibrant communities. Greg's role as program officer is to support more than 100 nonprofits and agencies in Routt and Moffat counties, helping them be more successful in their grantseeking and in fulfilling their charitable missions. He oversees multiple grant cycles through the lenses of trust-based philanthropy, capacity building, and sustainability for the organizations doing good work throughout the community. It's a challenging but very satisfying job!

"Power of the River: Expedition to the Heart of Water in Bhutan" is Greg's feature-length documentary debut. Robert Redford says: "A cinematic adventure into the heart of wilderness, Power of the River captures the connection between people and the rivers that are our lifeblood." The film won an award at its first festival, has been selected for 3 other festivals so far, and has garnered nominations for 4 Maverick Movie Awards including Best Documentary and Best Director.

I'm a strategist, researcher, wordsmith, editor, and writing coach for a variety of clients, from film companies and sports marketers to bloggers, financial firms, and executive coaches. I collaborate well with designers, photographers, agencies, marketers, programmers, and people at any level of every project. I provide editing, coaching, ghostwriting, and cheery encouragement for other writers. For every project, I draw on my background in anthropology to find the most compelling human interest angle.

I wrote, directed, and served in producing roles for film projects at the nonprofit organization, MakeAHero.org. MakeAHero's mission is to raise awareness and funds to support sports opportunities for people living with disabilities.

My responsibilities steadily increased and my experience varied widely in one decade at this film production, event management, and sports marketing company. I managed various operations of a national film tour: 70 cities; 180 events; 300,000 attendance; four concurrent road crews; national, local, and regional sponsors; all executed in the space of two months annually.

I participated in sales and oversaw program execution for a multimillion dollar roster of event sponsors, including: Jeep, Nissan, PBS, Sony, Janus, Ocean Spray, Seagate, AT&T, Visa, Evian, and hundreds more.

Throughout my ten years at Warren Miller, in addition to tour operations and sponsor management duties, I wrote scripts for feature films, television shows, and commercials (TV and radio); press kits and releases; magazine features; websites; advertising copy; sales decks; presentations; CD-ROMs (remember those?); training manuals; client handbooks; summary books; speeches; emcee scripts; newspaper special sections (advertorial); newsletters; contracts; business memos; and daily correspondence.
