In an ever-changing world, the demand for infrastructure and construction development is constantly growing. However, it’s our responsibility to find the right amount of materials and efficient processes that will result in a higher profit and are sustainable long-term. My curiosity about structures stems from my childhood experience, living in a regional town close to construction sites and seeing how the machinery, tools and humans work together.I completed my Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree at La Trobe University, Victoria where I have learnt concepts of Construction Management, Estimating & Cost planning, and Project management methodologies as well as hands-on experience in tools and Software such as 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐂𝐀𝐃, 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬, 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐋𝐀𝐁 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐗.In addition, I have gathered hands-on experience in cost estimation for a diverse portfolio of construction projects valued at up to $50M in my role working as a Construction Project Estimator at West Urban Construction.𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:⭐Analysed cost data using Advanced Excel and provided actionable insights on trends, variancesand process improvements that led to improving operational costs by 4%.⭐ Negotiated change orders and claims with contractors, suppliers and architects by leveraging key trends, risks, and other insights from the historical work.⭐ Calculated field measurements, analysed engineering drawings and generated comprehensive cost estimates using CostX with recommendations to achieve value, cost, and price objectives.I’m keen to expand my network and hear about exciting opportunities in the Construction field.Please feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or by Email ->gihannimeshranwala@gmail.com
