Conducted research into optimizing the packaging line of a brewery by solving the buffer allocation problem using simulations and linear programming optimization models.Main tasks:• Researched published works & identified existing techniques to optimize the buffer allocation for a packaging line at a large brewery.• Cleansed & processed real-time data to analyze various machines & component parameters like fill-rate, processing speed, failure rate etc. using Python Pandas & NumPy and SQL in an EC2 instance on AWS.• Simulated system behavior and defined relationships using Python SimPy and used these results to optimize the packaging line throughput using linear programming optimization models solved using Gurobi.
