About Gil Breau

Born and raised in New Brunswick, I continue to look to build ties within the communities that I work and live, looking to help build up, coach, and encourage groups and individuals to grow and reach their potential. I have been involved in coaching and leading throughout my life, and continue to have a passion to help others.I have been an employee of Irving Oil for over 10 years, primarily focusing on economic and strategic roles. Prior to that, I taught economics at UNBSJ. Throughout my career, as well as my extra curricular activities that involve coaching and volunteering, I have sought out opportunities where I can help educate others, assist in developing talent, and continue to challenge myself in my own personal growth.I still enjoy playing volleyball, which I fell in love with back in high school. But alongside playing, I have progressed from coaching at the high school level, to now assisting at the university where I played collegiately. Helping to pass on that passion that was nurtured in me by my coaches has continued to drive me to stay involved in a sport that has given me so much in the past 25 years. I continue to take that same mentality into my professional life, as the energy industry has continued to allow me to be challenged and be a continual learner about it's workings and where it is going. I hope, much like my opportunity to pass on that passion in sport, I can continue to do the same in my professional career - guiding newer professionals into discovering their own passions and drive.
