I am a very caring and compassionate individual who's professional objective is to help people help themselves and face their own personal demons so that they may have an enriched, powerful and happy life.I see emotional therapy as a way for the client to understand and be accountable for their intrinsic self on all 4 aspects of being: mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. How these 4 levels interact with each other and our own understanding around them. I believe the best results from personal therapy are achieved through a person-centred cognitive-behavioural approach through the use of confrontation. I try to get clients to challenge their own thought processes and challenge uneven learned behaviour. My primary objective in therapy is to have the client become more cognitive in their life choices and why they make them so they may better understand their necessity to change them for no one else but themselves. I try to get clients to look at their main life goals and in any given situation in life what is ultimately "the end result" in which they want to see and how we get in our own way of achieving happiness and fulfillment. How emotional responses determine relationships and how most of our regressional behaviour stems from our first interaction with that emotion. A client needs to revisit and understand it in order to heal. 90-95% of my sessions end in tears and clients know whole-heartedly that my challenging comes from a place of love and the only thing that I want is for them to achieve their own happiness...whatever that is in their own definition. We cannot control others...but we definitely can control ourselves.

ColumnistRaven'S Eye Media Ltd Feb 1997 - Sep 1999Vancouver, Canada AreaStarted as a guest columnist for Raven's Eye Newsletter addressing Chemical Dependency in our First Nations communities and it's devastating effects/affects. I soon became a regular columnist when column was picked up by Windspeaker, the National First Nations Newspaper. This was one of the positions I thought I was made for, as it showcased my writing. But, as luck would have it, I was working with UNYA and FSGV, as well as, Health Canada. Even though writing was on my time, due to time constraints I began to feel that I wasn't putting what I was capable of putting out there and two of my last articles, while achieving good reviews, I hated them, as I felt they glossed over a few issues that should have been given their due and brought to the forefront. I resigned not long after my disgust in the second one, we agreed on one final column to make my last impact and to also say good-bye to the faithful readers. For my last article I stepped away from the primary focus of Chemical Dependency and apparently hit a home run with a column on Elder Abuse in our First Nations communities. Not only was it picked up by Windspeaker and a number of other provincial First Nations newsletters/magazines picked it up and much to my surprise, I found out years later it had appeared in the Star-Phoenix in Saskatoon. So, my last ended up being my most reviewed. Most of these can still be accessed via the internet if you are so inclined to read. -
