Mr. Gil Mucave is an Agronomist with fourthy three years experience in crop production and market linkages promoting the availability and use of quality of agricultural commodities and agro services for improving agricultural yields. During 10 years, he has worked in commercial farming as Technical Manager for growing maize, beans, soybean and cotton in Gurue, Monapo, Meconta and Balama. Over the past 18 years, Mr. Mucave worked as an extension supervisor leading various teams providing technical assistance to the individual and farmer’s groups in several districts of the provinces of Nampula, Niassa and Cabo Delgado for producing cotton, horticulture, beans, maize and sesame. While providing technical assistance to the farmers groups Mr. Mucave developed services on market supply chain including, agro input procurement through national and multinational companies, farmer’s advisory on organization, market information system and trainings on storage, business plan, management and product knowledge. He has also used survey information and results for implementing and following up management services and evaluation of farmer’s performance in the market supply chain. Mr. Mucave has worked during the latest 5 years is engaged on Agro input dealer’s development programs, he has worked and collaborated extensively with NGO, Governments and, local authorities and private institutions within province and district level in both Mozambique Development Corridors of Nacala and Beira. While working with agro input dealers Mr. developed services on input supply chain, including management of agro dealers training program, the logistic planning, Association development, Credit Guarantee scheme, Voucher Scheme, Market Information System and Monitoring and Evaluation Based on Results.
