Gil Rind is a biomedical engineer with experience in active implantable medical devices for neurological conditions. This includes the design and testing of Synchron’s flagship Motor Neuroprosthesis as it transformed from a concept sketch to an IDE approved device on its way towards becoming the first FDA approved commercial implantable brain computer interface. He has recently worked as the Senior Director of Advanced Technologies for Synchron where he manages the development of blue sky ideas into commercializable products for neurointerventional electrophysiology and neuromodulation.Gil has co-authored 31 scientific papers and conference proceedings and is listed as an inventor on 4 patents. He has research experience in brain computer interfaces, epilepsy, and autism across all R&D disciplines including benchtop, preclinical, and early phase clinical experiments, where he has managed over $20M of research and private funding. He is passionate about creating new technologies that are safe, effective, and life changing.
