Working in the dispute resolution team in Harper Macleod’s Inverness office. I advise on a variety of disputes including contract, delict, contentious private client/executries, property, housing, landlord & tenant, construction. I have experience in the First-tier Tribunal, at all levels of the Sheriff Court, and in Court of Session cases instructing Counsel.I regularly appear in Sheriff Courts across the Highlands, and have appeared before the First-tier Tribunal, Housing & Property Chamber.

I started at checkouts and worked my way up within the department to become a colleague who would take charge of the department in the absence of management. From this I moved to a training department in which I helped train future management, developing my leadership skills and my knowledge of management. On returning to University for my honours year I took a trading position, dealing with stock rotation.Within the business I bettered my ability to work as part of teams of differing sizes. My communication skills have become much better and I have learned how to communicate both with colleagues and customers dependent on their needs. My leadership skills have continued to develop within my various roles and I have shown that I am responsible and trustworthy. I often have to solve problems and discuss these with colleagues and managers. I deal with several jobs at one time and can quickly respond to new problems that arise.

To undertake an audit in Lyon for a visually impaired student who would attend university there. Consequently I was asked to return for a week to assist this student, helping with daily tasks and safe travel to university and other places. Managing bank staff to ensure someone was always available. Responsible for the student's safety and ensuring there was always support available if and when needed. This gave me a feeling of personal achievement as I was able to help this student and ensure his enjoyment, while managing his bank assistants.

Dealing with customer issues and answering questions about stock. Helping customers with their purchases. General cleanliness of the garden centre and dealing with stock rotation. Responsible for ensuring a welcoming, clean garden centre. Introduction to dealing with customers and helping with sales. This allowed me to get my first insight into how a very small business operates. Worked mainly as an individual, making sure I always had work to do.
