I spent 20 years as owner/ operator of a successful newspaper distribution company with over 75 employees. 12 to 14 hour days 7 days a week. A crazy, hectic and challenging enterprise.I currently manage all aspects of a 464 unit self storage facility with amazing corporate support from the great folks at Safeguard Self Storage. I am encouraged to be myself and have an ownership attitude.I know most all of the over 400 tenants by name and we really have become like a family. People are in all the time just to stop and chat. The family approach quickly became a great source of referral business and the facility is flourishing. What a great feeling to be able to really help people in a time of need and gain their friendship as well.Now, as an Area Manager, I oversee 6 facilities. I am able to hire and train like-minded managers who really care about people. The 6 facilities are flourishing all with the continued support and commitment from an amazing corporate structure.Now as a District Manager overseeing 8 facilities I am grateful to be working for a company that worked with me through every phase of my growth from an Assistant Manager to a District Manager.
